The Sydney Flyrodders
promotes competition fly casting as a means to improve
its members casting accuracy. The club runs a
competition fly casting class once a month and all
members are invited to make use of this regardless of
whether they wish to compete in competition fly casting.
Brunn Shield
The club competes in the
Brunn shield which is a 4 event competition between
clubs all around Australia, but held at each club on the
same day (or close to). This is a team event where the results
of the best four performances on the day are used as the
club's result.
The Brunn shield consists
of 3 accuracy events. Dry Fly, Skish and Wet Fly.
There are two forms of the Skish and the competition
alternates these, Australian Skish followed by
International Skish
