The Penny Knot

Pass the tippet
through the hook eye and form a loop with the tag end. Wrap the loop
around the standing line four or five times and pass the end of the
tippet through the loop. Moisten and cinch knot.

Thread tippet through the hook eye, and then run back up along standing
main line. Next, form a long loop by taking the tag end back towards the
hook. Hold tag end and hook eye between thumb and index finger.

Wrap the long, formed loop around the standing line 3 to 4 times.

Now bring the tag end away from the hook and back up through the loop.

Pull the tag end until the knot is snug, not tight. Wet the knot

To tighten the
knot, pull slowly on the standing line until the knot seats against the
hook eye. When done correctly, you will feel and hear a slight click or
"pop".
